Peduli dan Tanggap Anak Jalanan di Area Kelurahan Pandang di Masa Pandemi Covid-19

Abstract

Street children are those who spending most of their time to live and seek for a living on the street. They have various activities to do such as busking, offering service to clean the car windows, peddling goods, and begging. They are consist of different ages, start from compulsory school age till adolescent. Parents limitations of child nurturing and caring, problems between parents, child abuse, social and economy conditions, are some factors cause many street children.

In this pandemic situations of Covid-19 which still hit the world, our concern for others must be increased. One kind of action runned by Universitas Teknologi Sulawesi, through Pengabdi Team is implementing activity called Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat which is involving street children who often doing their activities on Pengayoman Street, Pandang District, City of Makassar. Our main activity is giving masks to the street children which none of them were previously using mask. This can be happen for some reasons like : limited funds, ignorance and distrust towards Covid-19 virus, lack of knowledge and lack of information access.
