Feasibility of Mimika Regency River Transportation Network

Abstract

Mimika Regency is a coastal area with great potential with rivers. Rivers are one of the arteries of the economy, water sources, and sources of employment for the Mimika community. In the development of river transportation, technical criteria are needed to assess whether the river transportation network in Mimika Regency is feasible to be developed or not. The analysis used is bathymetric analysis, analysis of the relationships between river transportation variables and the origin and destination of movement, SWOT analysis, river transportation area capacity, river transportation capacity utilization rate, loading and unloading needs in river transportation. From the results of the analysis and technical aspects, it was found that river development is very feasible for the development of transportation networks in Mimika Regency.
